Associate Professor Wendy Cooper

Wendy is a staff specialist in the department of Tissue Pathology and Diagnostic Oncology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Wendy has a broad range of interests in surgical pathology and cytology with special interests in pulmonary pathology, haematopathology and molecular genetics. She graduated from medicine at the University of Sydney in 1998 with first class Honours and obtained a B.Sc.(Med) with first class Honours in 1996. Wendy obtained her fellowship from the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in 2004. She completed a Ph.D. thesis based on molecular prognostic markers in early stage non-small cell lung cancer in 2008, University of Sydney, for which she received the Peter Bancroft Prize. She is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney and Conjoint Associate Professor at the University of Western Sydney.

Wendy believes pathology underpins all cancer care, but admits she is a little biased.
