Dr Bea Brown

Bea is the Program Manager for the Sydney Catalyst Flagship Program Embedding Research (and Evidence) in Cancer Healthcare - EnRICH’, a prospective clinical cohort of 1000 patients with lung cancer. She is responsible for development, implementation, and management of the Program to ensure EnRICH meets its core research objectives and provides opportunities for Sydney Catalyst members to undertake related translational cancer research across the T’s. Bea is also a member of the Sydney Catalyst Evidence into Practice (T2/T3) Working Group.

Background:

Bea has been working in health research and research management since the early '00s and in health services and implementation research since 2009, with a brief interlude spent teaching. Her undergraduate degree was in Psychology and she has postgraduate qualifications in Organisational Psychology and Education. She completed her PhD in Implementation Research through the School of Public Health, University of Sydney related to the development and evaluation of a clinical network embedded intervention within a stepped wedge cluster randomised trial 'Clinician-Led Improvement in Cancer Care (CLICC)'. Prior to joining Sydney Catalyst she was a Senior Research Fellow in the Implementation Research Group at the Sax Institute where she worked for seven years on a range of collaborative projects involving clinicians, researchers and policymakers. 

Bea moonlights as chef, chauffeur and chief financier to her kids

Research Interests:

Bea's research interests are in knowledge translation and implementation and dissemination research that supports improvement in clinical practice and patient outcomes through the adoption of best evidence, and the evaluation of implementation programs.
