Ellen Brodie

Ellen is in the newly created Program Coordinator position within the Central Office Team. She is responsible for membership management (have a question or problem? Send her an email!) and helping with the implementation of Sydney Catalyst’s strategic objectives.

Background:   

Ellen's undergraduate degree was in International Relations with majors in politics, French and Spanish. Ellen undertook a Master's degree in International Development Studies, hoping to pursue a career in human rights and development but came into the health field while working at the Save Sight Institute in education and communications. Since then, she has been inspired by the amazing developments in medical research and the team of people that support such work.

Ellen is a novice bike rider and has been initiated into the cult of lycra and padded bike shorts.

Research Interests: 

Ellen has previous research experience in refugee and asylum seeker rights, participatory research approaches, and engineering education, with particular interest in the intersection between gender and human rights. Ellen is keen to broaden her research experience in the area of public health and is always willing to learn more about current research trends.
