Building qualitative studies into cancer research - just like following LEGO instructions

Presented by Associate Professor Haryana Dhillon, Dr Rebekah Laidsaar-Powell, and Dr Joanne Shaw, in conjunction with Sydney Catalyst.

In this workshop, we will showcase the building blocks of qualitative research methods, and how they can be utilised in clinical research projects. Qualitative research can provide useful insights across the lifespan of projects; from informing project conceptualisation, identifying population needs, and piloting interventions at the start of a project, through to aiding interpretation of trial findings and informing implementation.

Not just for psychosocial or public health researchers, this workshop will give researchers instructions on building qualitative data into all types of cancer research, from the lab to the clinic and beyond.

Facilitated by experienced mixed methods researchers, we will cover why qualitative methods can be useful, when to use qualitative research, and how to conduct it rigorously.
