Arnolda Jakovija graduated from San Raffaele University, Milan with first class Honours in Medical, Molecular and Cellular Biotechnology in 2017. During her masters, she worked in the Immunology division on a project focused on recapitulating leukemia immune evasion mechanism and relapse in a humanized mouse model. She was awarded a scholarship for International students from the University of New South Wales in 2019. She currently works at the Garvan. The focus of her PhD project is to understand how to modulate tumour stiffness in order to improve immune cell access. This will hopefully lead to new molecular and cellular approaches for anti-tumour therapies.
