Sean Poranzinski

Dr Porazinski completed his PhD in Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Bath and undertook postdoctoral training at the European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute (2013-2016), the University of the West of England (2016-2018), and the University of New South Wales (2018-2019).He is currently a Senior Research Officer in the Personalised Cancer Therapeutics Lab at the Kinghorn Cancer Centre at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and is a Conjoint Lecturer at St Vincent's Clinical School in the Faculty of Medicine at UNSW. He is driving novel projects using the lab's well-established pre-clinical pipelines in tandem with the latest single-cell sequencing technologies to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying metastasis and therapeutic resistance in cancer. He aims to develop new and refined personalised treatment strategies and optimal combination therapies to overcome/circumvent treatment resistance and improve patient outcomes. Dr Porazinski has attracted >900K AUD equivalent as chief and associate investigator in the last 5 years and has published in top journals including Nature and Current Biology.
