Dear members,

It is with great sadness that we farewell Sydney Catalyst on 30 June 2021. However after 10 years of operation we have much to celebrate.

Our flagship programs, education initiatives, networking and collaboration opportunities, and research support have assisted both emerging and established cancer researchers in building their careers, expanding their networks, and accomplishing breakthrough discoveries. However, none of this would have been possible without our members. Your active involvement in Sydney Catalyst enriched the experience for everyone.

In terms of next steps, we are hoping to see the establishment of a new research centre that will build on collaborations and gains made over the last decade across health precincts in central, northern and western Sydney through the translational cancer research centres Sydney Catalyst, Sydney Vital, Sydney West and the Westmead-based members of the Kids Cancer Alliance. This new entity will harness the considerable cancer research strengths of the University of Sydney.  Please register your interest here if you would like to be kept informed of any future announcements.

Finally, we would like to acknowledge the contributions of all our 770+ members. We are humbled by the opportunity to be involved in and assist with your amazing research and appreciate you joining Sydney Catalyst in our shared aim to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

Warm regards,

Professor Michael Boyer

Director, Sydney Catalyst
